It’s been a quick week in Vegas … lots of booth time, lots of characters, lots of good/bad food (as in good food that’ll have me putting in a little extra gym time when I get home). I’m sitting at the airport, definitely ready to get back to reality, back to my own bed, and back to a good gym!
More to follow, but thought I’d share thisi beauty that Helen snapped on Tuesday morning in our hotel …
Yup, The Cosmopolitan knows what’s up.
Happy Monday morning!
Sitting at the airport, getting ready to head off on a long day of travel. It should be really nice to get out of the office … I sat and thought about it last night, and the last time I was on the road was when I was in Denver and New Mexico in May! Granted, I have eight hours of planes and airport on my schedule today and Thursday – and Tuesday and Wednesday standing at a trade show booth all day – but there’s just something about getting out of the office – even if it is a whirlwind, as much time spent travelling as working like this one, that re-energizes me. The older I get, the more I find that I have way too much energy to be sitting at a desk all day. But, being an adult, we have to do what we have to do, right?
The good news is I’ll have my partner in crime (the lovely Helen) to entertain me – and really, a trip to Vegas can never be a bad thing, right (even if I’ll be flying in and out and working all day in between)? So off I go … first flight of the day takes off in about an hour (and of course, I have still not learned that it takes me 10 minutes to get to the airport – and about as long to get through security and to the gate – I love DCA). I’ll check back in once I’ve landed in Sin City!
I’m excited to announce the launch of my fitness blog! Strong-Fit-Beautiful strongfitbeautiful.wordpress.com will be focused on an extremely important part of my life: health and fitness. It will be focused on a number of topics, including group fitness, weight lifting, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and general insight regarding the world of health and fitness. I’ll also plan on sharing the music that’s currently fueling my workouts – including the playlists that I use in my weekly Spinning classes (I’ll even include some choreography notes, in case you have access to a Spinning bike).
So check it out! Share it with friends! And start committing to becoming a stronger, fitter, and more beautiful you!
I’ve been pretty lucky throughout the years to have some really great friends in my life. This weekend, I was able to spend some time with one of my favorites – my close college friend Kim. We haven’t seen each other in about two and a half years, but I always find it amazing how with those who truly “get” us, you can just pick up like we saw one another the day before.
Though our visit was short – only a little more than 24 hours – we still managed to spend a little time playing tourist. Kim got the true DC experience (yes, a ride on the Metro), we checked out the new MLK Memorial, watched a little Super Bowl, and as expected, spent a lot of time talking, laughing, and remembering some of the crazy things we did once upon a time.
Today we took a little trip over to Georgetown. We had a nice lunch, checked out a couple of the shops, took a peek at the Riverfront, and hit another DC tourist spot – Georgtown Cupcakes (from TLC fame … check out how great our cupcakes look).
It had been entirely too long since we’ve spent some time together, so it was definitely great to see her! I really do believe that there are people who are put into our lives for a reason, and Kim is definitely one of them. Here’s hoping that this year can bring many more visits with many more great friends!
