Southern Classy, Take 2 … Virginia Gold Cup

On Saturday, my company once again sponsored a tent at the Virginia Gold Cup. I kind of consider it making up for the fact that I never went to Carolina Cup while I was in college – and it’s always fun to get dressed up, Southern Classy style.

Here are a couple shots from a fun day – maybe a little too fun of a day – you know I dig the full skirts and big hats!

Greenville bound!

Headed to Greenville for Kim’s baby shower. I didn’t realize exactly how long it has been since I’ve been to Greenville…but I’m pretty sure the last the I was there was for Harriet and Hollis’ wedding…close to 7 years ago. It’s crazy to think it has been that long, especially since I used to fly out of GSP rather regularly back in my Clemson days.

It’s a quick trip, so more to come soon! Look forward to some pictures of Kim and her cute baby belly 🙂

Highlight of my weekend … Kim in town!

I’ve been pretty lucky throughout the years to have some really great friends in my life. This weekend, I was able to spend some time with one of my favorites – my close college friend Kim. We haven’t seen each other in about two and a half years, but I always find it amazing how with those who truly “get” us, you can just pick up like we saw one another the day before.

Though our visit was short – only a little more than 24 hours – we still managed to spend a little time playing tourist. Kim got the true DC experience (yes, a ride on the Metro), we checked out the new MLK Memorial, watched a little Super Bowl, and as expected, spent a lot of time talking, laughing, and remembering some of the crazy things we did once upon a time.

Today we took a little trip over to Georgetown. We had a nice lunch, checked out a couple of the shops, took a peek at the Riverfront, and hit another DC tourist spot – Georgtown Cupcakes (from TLC fame … check out how great our cupcakes look).

It had been entirely too long since we’ve spent some time together, so it was definitely great to see her! I really do believe that there are people who are put into our lives for a reason, and Kim is definitely one of them. Here’s hoping that this year can bring many more visits with many more great friends!
